ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:-

(i) Should possess a degree in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

(ii) Knowledge of Punjabi Language of Matriculation Standard or its equivalent.

AGE

(i) Candidate should not be below 18 years and above 38 years of age on the 01-01-2012.

(ii) Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 48 years for all States/ Central Government employees.

(iii) The Upper age limit is relaxed upto 43 years for Scheduled Castes of all States and Backward Classes of Punjab only.

(iv) Ex-servicemen of Punjab Domicile shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the Armed Forces of Union from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit.

(v) Upper age limit is also relaxed upto 43 years for Widows, Divorcees and certain other Categories of Women.

(vi) Upper age limit is also relaxed upto 48 years for Physically Handicapped of Punjab.

Vacancies Details

Mizoram: 15 (Telecom Technical Assistant)

Age: - Candidate must be between 18 and 27 years of age as on 31.12.2012 i.e. last date of receipt of

application. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Qualification: - A candidate must have obtained Three Years Diploma in Engineering in any of the following disciplines:- Telecommunications Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Electrical Engineering/

Radio Engineering /Computer Engineering / Instrument Technology/Information Technology/ M.Sc.(Electronics) from a recognised Institution/University. Candidates possessing higher qualification in the eligible stream are also allowed to appear in the Examination.

Selection: Candidates will be selected as Telecom Technical Assistant on the basis of a competitive examination. Date and venue of the examination will be communicated to the candidates in due course.

Conditions :

i) Registration in Employment Exchange is not necessary. However, preference will be given to those who have registered their names in Employment Exchange within the concerned unit of Recruitment.

ii) The selected candidates, before their appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant, have to undergo the prescribed course of training in one of the Telecom. Training Centres of the Corporation.

iii) The selected candidates shall have to execute a bond for a period of 2(two) years from the date of appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant in the proforma as specified by the Corporation.

iv) Candidates working under Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings should send their applications through proper channel.

Examination fees : Examination fee of Rs. 500.00 (Rupees five hundred) only is payable by the applicant in the form of Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order addressed to "The Accounts Officer (Cash), BSNL, Office of the Chief General Manager, N.E-I Telecom. Circle, Shillong-793001”. Fees once paid shall NOT be refunded under any circumstances nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. SC/ST and Ex-servicemen candidates need not pay the Examination Fee.

How to apply: A candidate shall have to apply in the typed or Xeroxed form as in Annexure-I. Applications complete in all respects should reach Asstt. General Manager (HR), Office of the Chief General Manager, N.E-I Telecom Circle Shillong-793001 on or before 31.12.2012. The Envelope containing the application must be superscribed with " APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT OF TELECOM TECHNICAL ASSISTANT - 2012 " in block letters.
