PROBATION PERIOD :  Two years for Officer JMG Scale I and One year for Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
         
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: NATIONALITY/ CITIZENSHIP: 
A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan  refugee  who  came  over  to  India  before  1st    January,  1962  with  the  intention  of  permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African  countries  of  Kenya,  Uganda,  the  United  Republic  of  Tanzania  (formerly  Tanganyika  and Zanzibar),  Zambia,  Malawi,  Zaire,  Ethiopia  and  Vietnam  with  the  intention  of  permanently  settling  in India.  Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose  favour  a  certificate  of  eligibility  has  been  issued  by  the  Government  of  India.    A candidate  in whose  case  a  certificate  of  eligibility  is  necessary  may  be  admitted  to  the  Interview  conducted  by  the Bank  but  on  final  selection  the  offer  of  appointment  may  be  given  subject  to  submission  of  eligibility Certificate issued by GoI.

Minimum Qualification:
a) Minimum Educational Qualification: Graduation from a recognized University having  completed  a  regular  10+2+3  course  securing  at  least  55%  marks  in Science Stream or 50 % marks in Arts/ Other streams. Candidates should be proficient in computer operations.
b) Age: Not more than 26 years as on 30.11.2012.
c) Application fee Rs.250/- for general category and Rs.50/- for SC/ST, to be paid  along  with  application  by  means  of  Demand  Draft  (Crossed  Account Payee) favoring SOUTH INDIAN BANK, payable at Kolkata.

Probation: 6 months. Confirmation subject to satisfactory performance.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Candidates willing to serve anywhere in India only need to apply.
2.  Candidates  having  permanent  address  in  the  respective  states    of  West  Bengal  or  Mizoram for  more than 5 yrs (Documentary proof to be produced), and are proficient in Mizo(Aizawl) / Bengali (Kolkota) apart from Hindi & English language only are eligible to apply. 
3. 4. Upper age limit will be relaxed by five years in the case of SC/ST candidates. Candidates belonging to
SC/ST should submit attested copies of certificates from a competent authority to prove their status in this regard.
5. Candidates are advised to retain two copies of the same photograph, which was used in the application, for use at the time of interview.
6. Mere eligibility will not vest any right/ entitlement on the candidate for being called for written test / interview.  In  matters  regarding  eligibility  and  selection,  Bank‟s  decision  will  be  final  and  no correspondence will be entertained.
